This was based off of the book, Charlotte's Web by E.B. White and was made for my narrative poem assignment in class.

When you were younger, you were considered the runt of the litter.

Set for slaughter or to be sold off to the world unknown.

That was until, you caught the eyes of a little girl where you were destined for greatness.

Days, then years grew by and you’ve grown quite reasonably large.

You were no longer able to stay within the girl’s home and was moved into the barn.

A place where we lived.

There you met the horses, cows, sheep and geese.

Not to mention the ever so hungry Templeton,

Who only enjoyed your company for the slop you consumed.

In the corner there I layed, that’s where I met you.

You were

“Terrific”

“Radiant”

“Humble”

You were “Some Pig”

Those truly showed how special you were, everybody else can see it too.

Leading you to move on to the fair,

Rewarding you with one big blue ribbon.

But it was then where I knew that our adventures together will not last.

So Wilbur,

I say this now,

Never doubt yourself

For you are destined for greatness.

Take care of yourself, take care of my children.

Tell them my story,

The story of Charlotte’s Web.
