The Last Trace

Inspired by the movie Leave No Trace.
Sun shown through the leaves of trees,
It was just me and my father against the world,
People with opened arms, who showed me rabbits and bees.
An opened forest with hidden stories untold.
Leave no trace.
Remain footprints behind.
Keep a hidden face,
Stay for one then disappear the next.
Loud city, barking dogs.
All reflecting noises from the wars.
Just stay unseen through shadows and logs.
On the ground with a sleeping bag under stars.
Soiled ground, grass is growing.
An abandoned cottage which grew colder at night.
I found him unconscious in a river flowing.
Found help to carry him safely while I worry with fright.
A trailer park with warm embrace,
I want to stay here forever, where we can lay low.
But dad denied my suggestions to get up and flee this place.
Packed bags and grassy trail, teared face I said no.
Separated daughter and father with our memories still in tact,
We had our own wishes, went in both a different pace.
Even though he's gone, we still hold an ever-loving pact.
I remain alone with care,
While my dad disappeared to leave with no trace.
