This is pulled from a chapter from a wattpad "book" I am currently writing (and have been on hiatus) for some time. So enjoy the first chapter: "Early Morning Beverage" from the Wattpad book Coffee.

Chapter 1: Early morning beverage
Morning arrived quite quickly. The warm light shone out of the window greeting me with its annoying bright smile. Hey! It's me! the Sun! Ready to ruin your sleep once again! I try to cover the rays with my arm but it was no use. Because of this, I had to get out of my comfy bed to get ready for the day. "So much for sleeping in" I release a sigh and head into the bathroom. After brushing my teeth, taking a shower, putting on clothes and whatever, I went out.
With my mind still sleepy and my legs feeling sluggish, I decide to head to my local café to get my desperate dose of caffeine. When I walked through the doors, a small bell rang signaling that a new customer just entered. The warm welcoming scent of fresh brewed coffee filled my senses, making my head tingle. The cozy toffee coloured light that illuminated the buildings interior. Customers come and go, going to work, school or some other busy activity they have to attend to. The day was still too early for the rush so lucky for me, I get to relax here; my home away from home. I walked towards the granite counter and looked through the menu options. Going simple and plain for this morning, I chose my usual coffee blend along with a chocolate croissant on the side. When I was ready to order I called the barista. His tall figure glanced at my direction. The man's eyes went small and glared at me 'Whoa, what's his problem?' "Um, excuse me? I'm ready to order."
He rolled his eyes as he placed the cup he was drying down and walked to the counter in front of me.
"Okay....what do you want?" No emotion at all came from that mouth of his, it was just a bored monotone. Who hired this guy? Nonetheless, I kept my cool and ordered. "My usual blend with a chocolate croissant please" giving the man a small smile.
For a quick second, his eyes slightly widened but fell back to a bored expression. "Okay...and who'll this drink be going to?" As I was about to respond, another barista came through the staff doors. "Oh Hannah! Welcome back! Tired morning, eh? You look exhausted! What'll it be?" Arms propped up on the countertop, her bright smile filled the room with rays of sunshine. A little too early to be so bright in the morning but who am I to judge. *ahem* We both turn to the sound; the man was still standing there waiting, annoyed while holding a cup and marker. "So I'll write Hannah then..." he scribbled down my name and gave it to the girl
" Your usual blend?" I gave a nod."Yeah, thanks Summer" Summer gave me a smile and left to work on my coffee. As for Mr. Monotone, he went back to drying cups, acting like he's trying to do work.
"One medium usual coffee blend and a chocolate croissant for Hannah!" "Thanks Summer, you're my hero" "Aw, anything to help my morning zombie friend from dying throughout the day" she gave a wink and all I can do was playfully roll my eyes. Speaking of which, I asked her about the male barista.
"Hey Summer, who's that guy over there? I've never seen him here before" Since I was a usual customer here at the café, I basically have grown to remember all the staff members that work there.
"Oh him? His name's Isaac, you've never seen him before because he was just newly recruited. He came here couple of days ago asking for a job and I hired him."
"Are you sure he's fit for this job? I mean, isn't he a little… I don’t know...gloomy?"
She looks at Isaac then to me, giving me those stern mom stares. She responded, "Hannah, you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, he may look gloomy but he's a really good worker. He just needs time to adjust to this new working environment"
I gave a shrug and trusted her. Summer isn't easy to persuade once she sets her mind on something, that was one of the things I liked about her, it reminded me of when we first met..
"Okay thanks for the coffee. I'll be sitting in the booth over there."
"But don't you have work by now?" Confused, I took my phone out from my pocket and realized it was already 8 o'clock. It really was time for my work...so much for relaxing in my sweet oasis. I turned and quickly waved a farewell to my cheerful friend, then headed out. Unknown to me, that Isaac guy had kept a small gaze at me until I left. Summer let a mischievous smile 'Oh~ Does my apprentice have a little crush?'
"No I don't"
‘that's odd...how did he hear my thoughts...*gasp* is he a wizard??' "You're talking out loud again boss, and I'm not a wizard heh" he chuckles.
"Then why were you looking at Hannah, hm?"
"Uh is there a problem with me looking at someone? Besides...I don't know the reason why myself."
Slinging my bag upon my shoulder I huffed while walking. That was the other thing that I didn't like other than mornings... It was work.
