What the heck happened to Autumn??

Okay, yes this subject does seem a bit late now since we are moving into the winter weather, but really should be addressed.
"What the heck happened to Autumn??"
Another year, coming back into the educational prison we call school; this time with University/College right the corner. I've been waiting for the wonderful vibrant colours of this season, between the summer fun and frigid winter stay ins. But all I get is a bland yellow and intense chilling cold, along with rain? maybe that's understandable, but where did Autumn go? I honestly was looking forward to seeing some new colours among the trees, even take a few "artsy" pictures for instagram or something. Instead, by the end of maybe... two weeks? Give or take; all of the leaves had already fallen off of the trees!
Seems a bit unfair for Mother Nature to deliver such a poor display of what Autumn looks like this time, where years prior showcased many beautiful nature landscapes that could similarly be defined as painted masterpieces right outside our window.
Either way, there is always hope for next year. Until then, I'll be cuddling inside with a cup of hot cocoa while Jack Frost plays around his winter wonderland.
